This is the PDF pattern. For the href=" target="_blank">paper pattern, go here. The PDF pattern will be available to download after checkout. It includes several files: separate files for the Jacket and Jumper for copy shops (36" and A0) as well as print at home versions for the Jacket and Jumper; and cutting and sewing instructions.
This sophisticated outfit was made in 1915 at Louis Cerlian of New York, one of the many custom, dress shops of the day. It was probably a copy of trendy fashion from Paris.
The Jacket featured Princess seaming, shaped waistline, and a flared below-hip length peplum to give a figure-flattering silhouette. The high stand collar has an optional contrast over-collar; decorative insets adorn the cuffs. The Jacket's military styling was popular in women's day wear at the beginning of World War I.
The Jumper features plunging V-neck in front and back, pleats into the shoulder seams, and armscyes open to just above the waist. A series of tucks tapers the full calf-length skirt into a fitted waist. The back closes with a zipper and the front is trimmed with a purchased buckle.
Suggested fabrics: Suiting weight linen, gabardine, or silk; lightweight wool and blends; heavyweight cotton twill. Optional over collar of light- to medium-weight silk, cotton, or linen.
